We are pleased to be working with PEAK Physical Education to implement a new PE Curriculum. Rather than focusing on a different sport each half term we will be building our lessons around games skills or Physical Literacy. Each unit of work will focus on a different skill such as passing, striking, aiming or creating space. Children will be taught to develop their skills through a range of games and contexts as they learn to improve their physical literacy. So for example, a unit on Creating Space may have 2 lessons on creating space in hockey, 2 lessons on creating space in basketball, 2 lessons on creating space in football and then 2 lessons on creating space in rugby, but every week the children learn about space in game situations. We look forward to developing this new curriculum with PEAK and we are sure that the children will thrive in this new curriculum.
