Our aim at St Aidan’s Catholic Primary School is to instil a love of history for all children in our care. We aim to deliver a history curriculum that inspires children’s curiosity to ask questions to find out more about their own locality, Britain’s past and the past of the wider world. We have such a rich, local history that we want to foster an environment of excitement and enthusiasm about our past. We aspire to encourage our children to develop an appreciation and understanding of the past, through teaching an inclusive history curriculum that is accessible to all, maximising outcomes for all children. The purpose of our curriculum is to be knowledge-rich and varied, preparing children with the necessary skills for the future.
