Geography
The study of Geography is about more than just memorising places on a map. It's about understanding the complexity of our world, appreciating the diversity of cultures that exist across continents. And in the end, it's about using all that knowledge to help bridge divides and bring people together.

Our entire curriculum is underpinned by our Catholic faith and all subjects are linked by social justice, stewardship and the need to sustain our planet. Our intent, when teaching Geography, is to inspire in children a curiosity and fascination about the world and people within it, to promote the children's interest and understanding of diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with gaining deep understanding of the Earth's key physical and human processes. Lessons are designed to provide appropriate challenge to all learners, in line with our commitment to inclusion. We also want children to become passionate and knowledgeable about our local community and beyond, by learning through experiences in practical and fieldwork activities. Our intent is that children become confident and articulate contributors to society when discussing geographical issues and this is supported by focussing on language and vocabulary in all lessons.
